Shiota Chiharu

When I observe oranges, I find that the vein on the pulp of oranges is very similar to a web. I search for the art exhibition related to the web, and then I find a recent exhibition of Shiota Chiharu, the artist. This exhibition is also related to my theme, which is all about the exploration of human nature, so I did some research related to the art exhibition.

Shiota Chiharu was born in Japan, and now works in Berlin, following the mother of behavioral art, Abramovich, who is famous for his intricate yarn mesh device.

Her works usually show intangible performances and installations, memory, anxiety, dreams, silence and so on. Her works often come from personal experience. She deeply attracts people from all walks of life and all over the world by questioning common concepts such as identity, boundary and existence.

“In silence” in 2008 is one of the famous works. The burnt piano is entwined by dense black wire net, standing in the center alone. It makes people feel uneasy and anxious. At the same time, there is a kind of Oriental melancholy beauty there.

Shiota Chiharu recalled that when she was 9 years old, her neighbor’s house was on fire. When she saw the burnt piano, she felt for the first time that the silent piano was so wonderful, even better than the one that could make sound. Shiota Chiharu, who felt this, was afraid of it.

Until 20 years later, she visualized the feelings she felt when she was a child, which could not be described by words, and hidden in her heart into in silence.

“In the sleeping room” was created by Yantian in 2002 at lucerne Art Museum in Switzerland. In an empty room, 24 women, sleeping in a clean and white bed with sex and peace, bring out a unique peace. However, in this peaceful space, there are countless black lines interspersed disorderly. They cross, twist and connect the bed where 24 women lie, making the whole room feel uneasy and even scared again.

BLOG

This week, our new project started. In the last project, I summed up a lot of things I didn’t do well enough. I decided to change the things I didn’t do well enough in the new project. The new project is about a shirt. Since this week, the school has been closed. I bought a ticket and am going back to China. The ticket is really expensive and hard to buy, but I am lucky that I have been very early I bought a ticket, and when I arrived at the airport, almost everyone wore masks. I think it’s very good to do so, but some people didn’t wear masks. Basically, all Chinese students protected themselves very well. Some even put on protective clothing. On the plane, I also met some new friends from London. They were on the same flight with me. Along the way, we All chatting, I feel very happy and full, we also pay attention to each other’s social software. I’m isolated at home now. I have a lot of things I want to go out to do. It’s really boring at home. I don’t know what to do every day. Maybe I can do my research or thank other things to pass my time
